What to do

AI-suggested

Since no official patches are currently available for CVE-2025-70243, affected organizations should implement several practical mitigations. First, restrict access to the router's management interface by limiting it to trusted internal networks and disabling remote management features if enabled. Employ network segmentation to isolate the router from critical infrastructure and sensitive systems. Monitor network traffic for unusual requests targeting the goform/formSetWAN_Wizard534 endpoint, which could indicate exploitation attempts. Consider deploying intrusion detection or prevention systems with custom signatures to detect malformed curTime parameter payloads. Regularly check D-Link's official channels for firmware updates or security advisories addressing this vulnerability and apply patches promptly when released. For high-risk environments, consider replacing the affected router model with a more secure alternative. Additionally, maintain backups of router configurations to facilitate rapid recovery in case of device failure due to exploitation.

Description

CVE-2025-70243 is a high-severity stack buffer overflow vulnerability found in the D-Link DIR-513 router firmware version 1.10. The flaw is triggered via the curTime parameter in the goform/formSetWAN_Wizard534 endpoint. Exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction and can cause denial of service by crashing the device. Although no known exploits are currently in the wild, the vulnerability poses a significant risk to affected devices. The vulnerability impacts availability but does not affect confidentiality or integrity. No official patches have been released yet. Organizations using this router model should monitor for updates and consider network segmentation or access restrictions to mitigate risk. Countries with widespread use of D-Link consumer routers and critical infrastructure relying on such devices are at higher risk.
