A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been fixed. Users should update their systems to the patched kernel versions and reboot to apply the fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's handshake network subsystem was fixed. The issue involved the handshake_req_submit() function replacing the socket destructor (sk->sk_destruct) but failing to restore it on submission failure before the request is hashed. This caused the original destructor to never run, resulting in a socket leak. The fix restores the destructor on the error path to prevent resource leakage.
