AI-suggested
Upgrade picklescan to version 0.0.33 or later, where the incomplete deny-list issue is fixed. This official fix blocks the previously unblocked functions and prevents bypass of security checks. No other mitigations are indicated.
Description
CVE-2025-71320 is a critical vulnerability in picklescan versions before 0.0.33. The software's deny-list for disallowed inputs is incomplete, failing to block the pydoc.locate and operator.methodcaller functions. This allows remote attackers to craft malicious pickle files that bypass security checks and achieve arbitrary code execution upon deserialization. The issue is fixed in version 0.0.33.
