Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CVE-2026-0275) involves improper privilege management (CWE-269) in Palo Alto Networks Prisma Browser on macOS. A local attacker with administrator access to the macOS filesystem can escalate privileges to root, potentially allowing unauthorized root-level actions on the device. The vulnerability is confirmed in Prisma Browser version 150.33.2.0. There is no vendor advisory or patch information currently available, and no known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Potential Impact

An attacker with local administrator access on macOS can escalate privileges to root, which may allow execution of actions with the highest system privileges. However, the overall severity is low, and exploitation requires prior local administrator access and filesystem access, limiting the attack scope.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict local administrator access and monitor for suspicious activity. No official remediation or temporary fix has been provided by the vendor at this time.
