Vendor/Project: openclaw
Product: line

Description

OpenClaw LINE versions before 2026.8.1 have an access control vulnerability where the group allowlist mode incorrectly inherits device management (DM) allowFrom values if groupAllowFrom is not explicitly set. This allows attackers who are members of a group to bypass intended group allowlist restrictions and trigger the agent when DM access is broader than the group's intended access.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-100566 describes an incorrect authorization vulnerability in OpenClaw LINE prior to version 2026.8.1. The flaw occurs because the group allowlist mode silently inherits DM allowFrom values when the groupAllowFrom setting is not explicitly configured. As a result, attackers with group membership can exploit this behavior to trigger the agent despite configured group allowlist restrictions, effectively bypassing intended access controls when DM access is broader than the group access.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthorized triggering of the agent by attackers who have group participation, circumventing group allowlist restrictions. This could lead to unauthorized actions or access within the OpenClaw LINE environment. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 6.9, indicating a medium severity impact with network attack vector, low complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, and low to limited confidentiality and integrity impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in OpenClaw LINE version 2026.8.1. Users should upgrade to version 2026.8.1 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation guidance is provided in the input data.
