Technical Analysis

This vulnerability involves a signed to unsigned conversion error in the srxpfe component of Juniper Networks Junos OS running on SRX Series devices. An adjacent attacker can exploit this flaw by sending crafted chassis-cluster fabric traffic, resulting in a denial of service condition affecting the data plane. The issue impacts several Junos OS versions prior to the indicated patch releases across multiple release trains.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows an adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service on the data plane of affected SRX Series devices. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity reported. The denial of service could disrupt network traffic passing through the device.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or patch links are provided in the current data. Until a patch is available, monitor vendor advisories for updates and consider network segmentation or limiting adjacency where feasible to reduce exposure.
