Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Kiteworks
Product: Email Protection Gateway

Description

Kiteworks Email Protection Gateway versions before 9.5.0 are vulnerable to a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) flaw. The gateway fetches URLs found in email message content without sufficient restrictions on the destination. This allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause the gateway to send requests to internal services or cloud metadata endpoints, potentially exposing sensitive internal information and possibly affecting the state of internal services.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-102095 is a critical SSRF vulnerability in Kiteworks Email Protection Gateway prior to version 9.5.0. The product performs server-side URL fetches from message content without adequate destination restrictions. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this to induce the gateway to send requests to internal network services or cloud instance metadata endpoints. This can lead to disclosure of sensitive internal data and may impact the state of internal services depending on the targeted endpoint.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation can disclose sensitive internal data by retrieving responses from internal services or cloud metadata endpoints. Additionally, depending on the internal service accessed, the attacker may influence the service's state. The vulnerability requires no authentication and has a high impact on confidentiality and integrity, but does not affect availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fixed version 9.5.0 is available that addresses this vulnerability. Users should upgrade Kiteworks Email Protection Gateway to version 9.5.0 or later to remediate this issue. No other mitigation steps are indicated in the provided data.
