Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-102568 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability in pardus-parental-control prior to version 0.7.0. The vulnerability exists in the polkit policy, which improperly allows unprivileged local users to execute PPCActivator.py with the --disable argument through pkexec, effectively disabling all parental control restrictions as root without requiring authentication.

Potential Impact

An attacker with local access can bypass parental control restrictions by disabling them entirely, removing DNS filtering and application limits. This could lead to unrestricted system usage contrary to intended parental control policies. The vulnerability requires local access and low complexity to exploit but does not involve user interaction.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict local user access to trusted individuals and monitor for unauthorized use of pkexec or PPCActivator.py with the --disable argument.
