Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in hekmon8 Jenkins-server-mcp 0.1.0 involves the jobPath function within src/index.ts, which is used by get_build_status, get_build_log, and trigger_build components. This flaw enables server-side request forgery (SSRF), allowing an attacker to induce the server to send crafted requests to arbitrary destinations. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely without user interaction and requires low privileges. The project was notified early but has not issued a fix or mitigation guidance. The CVSS 4.0 vector indicates network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and low to low impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. No patch or vendor advisory is available, and no exploits are currently known in the wild.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this SSRF vulnerability could allow an attacker to make the affected server send unauthorized requests to internal or external systems, potentially leading to information disclosure or interaction with internal services. However, the impact is rated medium with low confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts according to the CVSS 4.0 vector. There are no known active exploits in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official fix or patch is currently available for this vulnerability, and the vendor has not responded to the issue report. Users should monitor the vendor's channels for any future advisories or patches. Until a fix is provided, consider restricting network access and applying network-level controls to limit the server's ability to make arbitrary outbound requests, if feasible. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance.
