Users should check the vendor advisory for updates or patches. Until a fix is available, administrators should review and possibly disable ad blocks containing dynamic tags on search pages to reduce exposure. Monitoring vendor channels for remediation guidance is recommended.
Description
The Ad Inserter – Ad Manager & AdSense Ads WordPress plugin up to version 2.8.19 contains a code injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes. This occurs because the plugin does not properly validate input before calling do_shortcode, specifically when an administrator has configured an ad block with dynamic tags such as {title}, {tag}, {category}, or {smart-tag} enabled on search pages.
