Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-103324 describes an insufficient verification of data authenticity (CWE-345) in the Cardinity Payment Gateway for WooCommerce WordPress plugin before version 3.4.2. The plugin fails to properly verify payment notification authenticity because the secret used for signing these notifications is empty by default. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to forge payment notifications, potentially marking orders as paid or failed without legitimate payment confirmation.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to manipulate order statuses by forging payment notifications. This can lead to financial discrepancies such as marking unpaid orders as paid or forcing orders to failed status, impacting order processing integrity. There is no direct confidentiality or availability impact reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the Cardinity Payment Gateway for WooCommerce plugin to version 3.4.2 or later, where this issue is fixed. Since the affected versions are explicitly before 3.4.2, applying this official fix will remediate the vulnerability.
