Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-103681 is an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284) in the Frontend Dashboard WordPress plugin versions before 3.0.0. The plugin fails to perform a capability check in one of its AJAX actions, enabling authenticated users with low privileges to delete configured profile and post form fields. This flaw arises from insufficient authorization validation in the plugin's AJAX functionality.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users with minimal privileges (e.g., subscribers) can delete critical configuration data related to profile and post form fields in the Frontend Dashboard plugin. This could disrupt the intended functionality of the plugin and potentially impact site user experience or data integrity related to forms managed by the plugin.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the Frontend Dashboard WordPress plugin to version 3.0.0 or later, where this capability check issue is resolved. Since no official patch link is provided, users should verify the availability of the fixed version from the plugin vendor or repository. Until upgraded, restrict user roles and permissions to minimize exposure.
