Due to the critical nature of this vulnerability and lack of an official fix, it is recommended to disable or remove the Acadlix LMS plugin until a patch is released. Restrict access to the WordPress REST API endpoints if possible and monitor for suspicious file deletion activity. Check the vendor advisory for updates on patch availability.

Description

The Acadlix LMS plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 1.1.9 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the post_delete_assessment_file_by_id function. This flaw allows authenticated users with subscriber-level access or higher to delete arbitrary files on the server due to insufficient file path validation. The vulnerability is exacerbated by weak permission checks relying on a publicly exposed nonce, effectively allowing unauthenticated exploitation. Successful exploitation can lead to remote code execution by deleting critical files such as wp-config.php.
