CVE-2026-103904: CWE-79 Improper neutralization of input during web page generation ('cross-site scripting') in JTL-Software GmbH JTL-Shop
Description
CVE-2026-103904 is a high-severity cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in JTL-Shop by JTL-Software GmbH. The public consent endpoint accepts arbitrary consent names from unauthenticated users without validation. These names are stored and later rendered without proper output encoding in the administration backend. This allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to inject malicious script code that executes in the browser session of an administrator viewing the consent statistics page, potentially enabling actions with administrator privileges.

Technical Analysis
The vulnerability arises because the public consent endpoint of JTL-Shop does not validate consent names submitted by unauthenticated visitors against configured consent items. These arbitrary names are stored in consent statistics and rendered in the administration backend without output encoding, leading to stored cross-site scripting (CWE-79). An attacker can exploit this to execute arbitrary script code in an administrator's browser session when they view the consent statistics page, potentially performing privileged actions.
Potential Impact
An unauthenticated remote attacker can inject malicious scripts that execute in the context of an administrator's browser session. This can lead to unauthorized actions performed with administrator privileges, compromising the integrity and security of the administration backend.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or patch links are provided in the available data. Until a patch is available, restrict access to the consent statistics page to trusted administrators and consider additional input validation or output encoding as temporary mitigations.
