Users should monitor the vendor's advisory channels for updates. Until a fix is available, restricting user roles to prevent unauthorized shortcode execution and disabling the 'ampforwp-cat-description' setting if feasible may reduce exposure.

Description

The AMP for WP – Accelerated Mobile Pages WordPress plugin versions up to and including 1.1.18 contains a code injection vulnerability. Authenticated users with custom-level access or higher can execute arbitrary shortcodes due to improper validation before calling do_shortcode. The vulnerability is triggered via the 'ampforwp-cat-description' setting, which is enabled by default, affecting most installations without additional configuration.
