AI-suggested

Users should monitor the vendor's advisory channels for updates. In the meantime, restricting or disabling the vulnerable plugin or limiting exposure to untrusted users may reduce risk. Since the nonce check is ineffective, relying on it for protection is insufficient. Implementing additional input validation or web application firewall rules to block malicious payloads targeting the 'field_attr[required]' parameter may provide temporary mitigation.

Description

The User Frontend plugin for WordPress by wedevs, versions up to 4.3.13, is vulnerable to reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) via the 'field_attr[required]' parameter. This vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary scripts. The nonce check intended to protect the AJAX action is ineffective because the nonce value is publicly accessible to anonymous visitors, enabling attackers to harvest it and bypass protections.
