Published: 10/01/2026 (10/01/2026, 21:08:37 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: HaschekSolutions
Product: pictshare

Description

PictShare versions before 3.7.1 have an information disclosure vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to access sensitive metadata, including the secret delete_code and uploader details, via the API::info() endpoint. This exposure enables attackers to delete arbitrary files and compromises uploader privacy by revealing IP address, User Agent, and other metadata.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-104051 affects PictShare versions >=2.0.0 and <3.7.1. The API::info() endpoint returns the complete raw metadata object without filtering fields, allowing unauthenticated attackers to obtain the secret delete_code and uploader metadata. Using the publicly visible file hash, attackers can retrieve the delete_code and invoke the delete API to permanently remove arbitrary files. This results in loss of content integrity, availability, and uploader privacy due to exposure of uploader IP, User Agent, remote port, and SHA-1 hash.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to disclose sensitive credentials (delete_code) and uploader metadata, enabling unauthorized deletion of files and exposure of uploader privacy information. This compromises content integrity and availability, as well as uploader anonymity.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fixed version 3.7.1 or later is available that addresses this vulnerability. Users should upgrade to PictShare 3.7.1 or newer to remediate this issue.
