AI-suggested

A fix is available in coturn version 4.11.0. Users should upgrade to version 4.11.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

Coturn versions 4.10.0 up to but not including 4.11.0 contain a vulnerability where uninitialized memory is disclosed to remote unauthenticated attackers. This occurs due to the stun_init_error_response_common_str() function failing to zero-initialize a buffer before using strlen(), leading to leakage of stack memory contents in the ERROR-CODE reason phrase. This memory disclosure can weaken ASLR protections and allow precise version fingerprinting.
