CVE-2026-104724: CWE-89 Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection') in fireplugins FireBox – WooCommerce Popup Builder, Exit Intent Popup, Email Optin & Cart Abandonment
Description
The FireBox – WooCommerce Popup Builder, Exit Intent Popup, Email Optin & Cart Abandonment plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via FireBox Form Display Condition in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.13 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. On fresh installations of version 3.1.10 and later, exploitation requires administrator-level access; however, on sites upgraded from a version prior to 3.1.10, the preserveCampaignRoleAccess() migration grants the edit_fireboxes capability to any role that previously held edit_posts, reducing the minimum required privilege to Author-level.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-104724 is an SQL Injection vulnerability in the FireBox – WooCommerce Popup Builder, Exit Intent Popup, Email Optin & Cart Abandonment WordPress plugin. The vulnerability arises from insufficient escaping of user-supplied parameters and lack of proper preparation of SQL queries in the FireBox Form Display Condition feature. Authenticated users with author-level privileges or higher can inject additional SQL commands to extract sensitive data from the database. The minimum privilege required depends on the installation type and version: administrator-level on fresh installs of 3.1.10 and later, but author-level on upgraded sites due to a migration that grants elevated capabilities.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows authenticated users with author-level or higher privileges to perform SQL Injection attacks, enabling them to extract sensitive information from the database. This compromises confidentiality but does not affect integrity or availability according to the CVSS vector. The vulnerability increases risk on upgraded sites where lower privilege levels can exploit the flaw.
Mitigation Recommendations
No official patch or fix is currently confirmed for this vulnerability. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict author-level access carefully and monitor for suspicious activity. Consider upgrading to a fixed version once released or applying any vendor-provided temporary mitigations.
