AI-suggested

Users should restrict editor-level access to trusted individuals and monitor for suspicious activity. Applying principle of least privilege and disabling or restricting the vulnerable plugin until a fix is available is recommended.

Description

Tainacan WordPress plugin versions up to 1.3.0 have a directory traversal vulnerability via the 'tmp_file' parameter. Authenticated users with editor-level or higher privileges can exploit this to read arbitrary files on the server. The attack involves injecting a malicious path that is stored in the database and later accessed through a REST endpoint, exposing file contents.
