Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105039 describes a missing authorization (CWE-862) vulnerability in EnergizeLab station-middleware Docker images versions 1.6.5 through 1.8.2. The affected versions do not enforce user role checks on administrative APIs, allowing any authenticated user with low privileges to retrieve AI provider keys and alter configuration and object-store data. This flaw enables unauthorized access and modification of sensitive system components.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows low-privileged authenticated users to access highly sensitive information such as AI provider keys and to change critical configuration and object-store contents. This can lead to compromise of confidentiality and integrity of the system. The CVSS score of 9.6 indicates a critical impact with high confidentiality and integrity loss, though availability is not affected.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the affected versions and administrative APIs to trusted users only. Monitor for updates from EnergizeLab regarding patches or official mitigations.
