Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-862) in Devolutions Server affects versions prior to 2026.3.8.0. An authenticated user granted only view permissions on the global vault can escalate their privileges to modify or delete global contacts and folders. The issue results from missing authorization checks that fail to restrict modification and deletion actions to appropriately privileged users.

Potential Impact

An attacker with minimal permissions (global vault view) can alter or remove critical global contact and folder data, potentially disrupting operations or causing data integrity issues within the Devolutions Server environment. There is no indication of remote unauthenticated exploitation or broader system compromise from the provided data.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Devolutions Server version 2026.3.8. Users should upgrade to this version or later to remediate the vulnerability. No alternative mitigations or workarounds are provided in the vendor advisory.
