Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: langflow-ai
Product: langflow

Description

Langflow versions prior to 1.9.0 contain a critical OS command injection vulnerability that allows any authenticated user to execute arbitrary commands on the server. This occurs because user-supplied commands are passed directly to a bash shell without validation or sandboxing. The vulnerability also permits arbitrary environment variable injection. The issue is fixed in version 1.9.0.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105740 is an OS command injection vulnerability in langflow-ai's langflow tool, affecting versions before 1.9.0. Authenticated users can achieve remote code execution by adding an MCP server with the "Stdio" transport, where the command field is passed unsanitized to bash -c "exec {command}". No validation, allowlisting, or sandboxing is performed, leading to immediate command execution when the server list is fetched. Additionally, the env field allows injection of arbitrary environment variables such as LD_PRELOAD or PATH overrides. The vulnerability is resolved in langflow version 1.9.0.

Potential Impact

An authenticated attacker can remotely execute arbitrary code on the server running langflow, potentially leading to full system compromise. The vulnerability affects confidentiality, integrity, and availability, as indicated by the CVSS score of 9.9. The ability to inject environment variables further increases the attack surface.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade langflow to version 1.9.0 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are specified or recommended by the vendor.
