CVE-2026-105761: CWE-639: Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key in langgenius dify
Description
Dify, an open-source LLM app development platform, had an authorization bypass vulnerability prior to version 1.16.0. The PUT /console/api/apps/<app_id>/server endpoint allowed authenticated workspace members to modify MCP server status and parameters of other applications without proper ownership verification. This could lead to unauthorized changes such as redirecting data or disabling services. The issue is fixed in version 1.16.0.

Technical Analysis
The vulnerability (CVE-2026-105761) in Dify exists in the PUT /console/api/apps/<app_id>/server endpoint implemented in api/controllers/console/app/mcp_server.py. The AppMCPServerController.put() method retrieves an AppMCPServer instance by a client-supplied server ID but fails to verify that the server belongs to the specified application and tenant. As a result, an authenticated workspace member can change the MCP server status and parameters of other applications, potentially redirecting data or disabling services. This authorization bypass is classified as CWE-639. The vulnerability is resolved in Dify version 1.16.0.
Potential Impact
An authenticated workspace member can modify MCP server configurations of applications they do not own, potentially redirecting data flows or disabling application services. This could disrupt application functionality and compromise data integrity within the affected environment. There is no indication of confidentiality impact. The CVSS v3.1 score is 7.1 (High), reflecting the integrity impact and low attack complexity with network vector.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade Dify to version 1.16.0 or later, where the authorization check verifying server ownership by application and tenant is implemented. No other mitigations are indicated. Patch status is confirmed fixed in version 1.16.0.
