Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105973 is a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the Visual Form Builder WordPress plugin versions up to 3.1. The plugin does not perform authorization or nonce verification when users reorder form fields, enabling any authenticated user, including those with minimal privileges (Subscriber and above), to alter the form field structure of any form on the site. This unauthorized modification can cause persistent breakage of the form's rendering on the public-facing site.

Potential Impact

Any authenticated user with Subscriber or higher privileges can reorder form fields in any form, leading to unauthorized persistent changes that break the form's public rendering. This can affect site functionality and user experience by disrupting form operations.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix is currently documented for this vulnerability. Users should monitor the vendor's advisory for updates. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated user roles to trusted individuals only and consider disabling or limiting use of the Visual Form Builder plugin if possible.
