Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105975 describes a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the CamPay Shortcode Payment Gateway WordPress plugin prior to version 1.7. The plugin does not authenticate Mobile Money payment confirmations properly and instead trusts client-supplied parameters to determine payment status. This allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate payment records by marking them as paid, destroying genuine records, and injecting plugin metadata into arbitrary posts within WordPress.

Potential Impact

An attacker can manipulate payment records without authentication, potentially causing financial discrepancies by falsely marking payments as completed or deleting legitimate payment records. Additionally, the attacker can write arbitrary plugin metadata onto posts, which may affect site integrity or content.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or vendor advisory is provided in the input data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, avoid using affected versions or restrict access to the plugin's payment confirmation endpoints if possible.
