Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-106031 is an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284) in the Spin Wheel WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.2.1. The plugin does not verify that a user has legitimately performed a spin before returning a configured prize coupon. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can disclose and drain coupon codes from any campaign, including unpublished campaigns, potentially leading to unauthorized coupon redemption.

Potential Impact

Unauthenticated users can exploit this vulnerability to obtain and consume prize coupons without performing the required spin action. This can lead to unauthorized coupon redemption, loss of promotional resources, and potential financial impact for the site owner. Campaigns that are unpublished and intended to be private are also exposed.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Spin Wheel version 2.2.1. Users should upgrade to version 2.2.1 or later to remediate this vulnerability. Until upgraded, restrict access to the plugin or disable it if possible to prevent exploitation.
