Published: 10/14/2026 (10/14/2026, 06:00:10 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Product: WP Data Access

Description

The WP Data Access WordPress plugin before 5.5.84 does not restrict its database table export action to authorized users, gating it only with a token that the WP Data Access WordPress plugin before 5.5.84 itself prints into the public pages on which it displays a table, allowing unauthenticated attackers to export the complete contents of any publicly displayed table, including columns and rows withheld from the display shown to visitors.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-106099 describes an information exposure vulnerability (CWE-200) in the WP Data Access WordPress plugin versions prior to 5.5.84. The plugin's database table export feature is gated only by a token that is printed on public pages, allowing unauthenticated attackers to bypass authorization controls and export full table data, including sensitive columns and rows not visible in the public display. This flaw arises from improper access control on the export action.

Potential Impact

Unauthenticated attackers can obtain complete database table contents that are intended to be partially hidden from public view. This could lead to unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information stored in the database tables accessible via the plugin's export functionality.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in WP Data Access version 5.5.84. Users should upgrade to version 5.5.84 or later to remediate this vulnerability. Patch status is confirmed by the affectedVersions field indicating versions before 5.5.84 are vulnerable.
