CVE-2026-106120: CWE-200: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor in harttle liquidjs
Description
LiquidJS versions prior to 10.27.2 have a vulnerability where enabling ownPropertyOnly does not fully restrict access to inherited array indices via certain operations like negative indexing, .first, .last, filters, join, reverse, slice, compact, and for-loop iteration. This allows an attacker who can manipulate prototype state or inherited array data to disclose sensitive values that ownPropertyOnly is intended to hide. The issue is fixed in version 10.27.2.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-106120 describes an exposure of sensitive information vulnerability in harttle's LiquidJS template engine. When ownPropertyOnly is enabled in versions before 10.27.2, several array operations bypass the intended restriction on inherited properties, allowing access to prototype-provided elements outside the controlled readJSProperty() method. This can lead to unauthorized disclosure of data if an attacker can influence the prototype or inherited array-index data and trigger template rendering using the affected operations. Direct positive indexing and normal prototype reads are blocked, but alternate array access paths remain vulnerable. The vulnerability is addressed in LiquidJS version 10.27.2.
Potential Impact
An attacker with the ability to influence prototype state or inherited array-index data can exploit this vulnerability to disclose sensitive information that ownPropertyOnly is designed to protect. This could lead to unintended data exposure during template rendering. The CVSS 4.0 score of 6 (medium severity) reflects the network attack vector, low complexity, partial attack complexity, and partial confidentiality impact without integrity or availability impact.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade LiquidJS to version 10.27.2 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated or required according to the available data.
