Technical Analysis

This vulnerability involves a confused deputy issue in Google Lens integrated into Google Chrome before version 155.0.8059.39. An attacker who has already compromised the renderer process can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox environment by delivering a specially crafted HTML page. This elevates the attacker's capabilities beyond the renderer sandbox, increasing the potential impact of an attack.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution outside the sandbox, allowing an attacker to gain higher privileges and potentially take full control of the affected system. The CVSS score of 8.3 indicates a high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Google Chrome version 155.0.8059.39. Users and administrators should update to this version or later to remediate the vulnerability.
