Technical Analysis

This vulnerability involves an observable discrepancy in the Autofill AI feature of Google Chrome before version 155.0.8059.39. An attacker who has already compromised the renderer process and can trick the user through social engineering can exploit this flaw to extract sensitive information by presenting a specially crafted HTML page. The CVSS score is 5.3 (medium severity), with network attack vector, high attack complexity, no privileges required, user interaction required, and impact on confidentiality only.

Potential Impact

An attacker who has compromised the renderer process and successfully social engineers the user can obtain sensitive information through a crafted HTML page exploiting the Autofill AI discrepancy. There is no impact on integrity or availability. The vulnerability requires user interaction and has a high attack complexity, limiting its ease of exploitation.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available as per the Google Chrome stable channel update advisory linked by the vendor. Users and administrators should update Google Chrome to version 155.0.8059.39 or later to remediate this vulnerability.
