What to do

AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, monitoring and limiting PFCP message sources may help reduce risk.

Description

A denial-of-service vulnerability in open5GS v2.8.0 affects the PFCP transaction handling path. When PFCP transaction or timer resources are exhausted, the failure to handle this condition properly causes an assertion failure, terminating the affected process and disrupting service. This prevents further session establishment until the component is restarted.
