Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-287) in Eptura Archibus permits unauthenticated attackers to send a DWR request with the call method isPasswordUppercase followed by a call to run a workflow rule. Because authentication is bypassed, workflow rules can be executed without proper authorization. The CVSS 3.1 score is 8.6 (high), reflecting network attack vector, low complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and a confidentiality impact but no integrity or availability impact. The affected versions are all versions prior to 2025.02.

Potential Impact

An attacker can execute workflow rules without authentication, potentially leading to unauthorized access to sensitive information or actions that compromise confidentiality. There is no reported impact on integrity or availability. No known exploits are reported in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or fix is currently documented. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict network access to the affected service and monitor for suspicious DWR requests invoking isPasswordUppercase or workflow rules.
