CVE-2026-107322 - OS command injection in Amazon Agent Plugins for AWS databases-on-aws
Description
CVE-2026-107322 is an OS command injection vulnerability in the Amazon Agent Plugins for AWS, specifically in the databases-on-aws plugin versions 1.0.0 through 1.7.0. This plugin extends AI coding agents with AWS workflows and includes database helper scripts. The vulnerability arises from an incomplete input validation that allows a remote unauthenticated actor to supply crafted content. This crafted input can lead to operating system command execution on the host if the agent invokes the local helper with the malicious database command. The commands execute with the permissions of the helper process. This issue does not affect the Aurora DSQL service or bypass database privileges. A fix is available in version 1.7.1.

Technical Analysis
The databases-on-aws plugin for Amazon Agent Plugins for AWS versions 1.0.0 through 1.7.0 contains an OS command injection vulnerability (CVE-2026-107322) due to incomplete input validation of database command values. A remote unauthenticated attacker can supply crafted inputs that, when processed by the agent and passed to the local helper, result in arbitrary OS command execution with the helper's process permissions. The vulnerability does not impact the Aurora DSQL service or database privilege enforcement. The affected code is not a network-facing service; exploitation requires the agent to invoke the helper with malicious input. The issue is resolved in version 1.7.1.
Potential Impact
An unauthenticated remote attacker can achieve operating system command execution on the host running the databases-on-aws plugin by supplying crafted input that the agent processes and passes to a local helper script. The commands execute with the permissions of the helper process. This could lead to unauthorized system-level actions on the host. The vulnerability does not compromise the Aurora DSQL service or bypass database privilege controls.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade the databases-on-aws plugin to version 1.7.1 or later, where the vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the issue is resolved in this official fix.
