CVE-2026-107363: CWE-472 External Control of Assumed-Immutable Web Parameter in OpenStack Zaqar
Description
In OpenStack Zaqar before 23.0.1, the WebSocket transport fails to bind the project identifier in subsequent requests to the project authenticated by the Keystone token. An authenticated user with a valid token for one project may substitute another project's UUID to enumerate, inspect, create, or delete queues belonging to that project, resulting in unauthorized disclosure, modification, or loss of queue data. Only deployments using the WebSocket transport with Keystone authentication are affected.

Technical Analysis
In OpenStack Zaqar versions prior to 23.0.1, the WebSocket transport mechanism does not correctly bind the project identifier from the authenticated Keystone token to subsequent requests. This allows an authenticated user to substitute a different project's UUID in requests, thereby enumerating, inspecting, creating, or deleting queues belonging to that other project. This vulnerability is classified as CWE-472 (External Control of Assumed-Immutable Web Parameter). The issue affects multiple version ranges: >=1.0.0 <20.1.3, >=21.0.0 <21.0.3, >=22.0.0 <22.0.3, and >=23.0.0 <23.0.1.
Potential Impact
An attacker with valid authentication for one project can access and manipulate queue data of other projects by substituting project UUIDs. This leads to unauthorized disclosure, modification, or loss of queue data within OpenStack Zaqar deployments using WebSocket transport with Keystone authentication. The CVSS 4.0 score is 6.1 (medium severity), reflecting the potential for significant unauthorized data access and modification.
Mitigation Recommendations
A fix is available in OpenStack Zaqar version 23.0.1 and later. Users should upgrade affected deployments to version 23.0.1 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. Since this is not a cloud service, manual patching is required. No vendor advisory content was provided to indicate otherwise.
