Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Integrics
Product: Enswitch

Description

Integrics Enswitch versions 3.13 through 4.4 have an authentication bypass vulnerability in the password update API endpoint. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to change account passwords by omitting the reset parameter, exploiting accounts with no pending reset and a default empty reset_key. Attackers can enumerate valid usernames and potentially take over administrator accounts. The vulnerability has a critical severity with a CVSS score of 9.3.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-107640 affects Integrics Enswitch versions 3.13 through 4.4. The vulnerability exists in the /api/json/user/password/update/ endpoint, where an attacker can bypass authentication by omitting the reset parameter during a password update request. This allows changing passwords of accounts that have no pending reset, exploiting the fact that the reset_key defaults to an empty value. By enumerating valid usernames, attackers can gain unauthorized access, including administrator accounts.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation enables unauthenticated attackers to change passwords of targeted user accounts, including administrators, leading to full account takeover. This compromises system integrity and potentially allows attackers to control the affected Enswitch installation.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the password update API endpoint and monitor for unusual password change attempts. Avoid exposing this API publicly if possible.
