Published: 10/08/2026 (10/08/2026, 18:36:35 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: ntharim
Product: dot-access

Description

dot-access versions 0.0.3 through 1.0.0 contain a critical code injection vulnerability. Remote attackers can supply crafted paths to the get() function, which are concatenated into a new Function body, enabling execution of arbitrary JavaScript. This allows attackers to access constructor.constructor, load the child_process module, and execute operating system commands within the Node.js process.

Technical Analysis

The dot-access package versions 0.0.3 through 1.0.0 suffer from a code injection vulnerability (CVE-2026-107700). The vulnerability arises because the path parameter passed to the get() function is directly concatenated into a new Function constructor in index.js without proper sanitization. This flaw enables remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code, including accessing constructor.constructor to require the child_process module and run OS commands in the Node.js environment.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the host running the vulnerable Node.js process. This can lead to full system compromise, data theft, or disruption of service. The CVSS 4.0 score is 9.3 (critical), reflecting the high impact and ease of exploitation without privileges or user interaction.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, avoid using affected versions of dot-access or restrict access to the vulnerable functionality to trusted users only.
