Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-107791 is a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the WP Comment Cleaner WordPress plugin before version 7.2. The plugin fails to verify user capabilities or validate a nonce in one of its bulk comment deletion functions. As a result, any authenticated user, including those with minimal privileges like subscribers, can execute a bulk deletion of all comments on the site, leading to permanent loss of comment data.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users with minimal permissions can permanently delete all comments on the affected WordPress site. This can result in data loss and disruption of site functionality related to user comments.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade WP Comment Cleaner to version 7.2 or later, where this authorization issue is fixed. Since the vulnerability is resolved in 7.2, applying this official fix fully mitigates the risk.
