Published: 10/08/2026 (10/08/2026, 21:51:28 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: banq
Product: jivejdon

Description

Jivejdon contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the UpdateThreadToForumAction component. Authenticated users can exploit this flaw to move other users' threads by sending crafted threadId and forumId parameters to the /message/threadToForum/save endpoint. This allows relocation of any reply-less thread to an arbitrary forum without proper permission checks.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in Jivejdon, present from commit d58a36b0 through commit ee67a65e, is a missing authorization issue in the UpdateThreadToForumAction. It enables authenticated users to move threads they do not own by manipulating threadId and forumId values sent to the /message/threadToForum/save API endpoint. This affects reply-less threads, allowing unauthorized relocation to arbitrary forums.

Potential Impact

An authenticated user can move other users' threads without authorization, potentially disrupting forum organization and user content integrity. The vulnerability does not allow privilege escalation or data disclosure beyond thread relocation. The CVSS score is 5.3 (medium severity), indicating moderate impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated user permissions to trusted users only or implement additional access controls on thread relocation functionality.
