Technical Analysis
PHPNuxBill versions up to 2025.3.20 contain an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability in the radius.php FreeRADIUS REST endpoint. The vulnerability arises because request parameters such as username, macAddr, or nasid are directly interpolated into whereRaw() SQL queries without proper sanitization. This allows attackers to perform time-based blind SQL injection attacks against the accounting or authenticate actions, enabling extraction of customer records and credentials.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive customer data and credentials from the backend database. The vulnerability has a high CVSS 4.0 score of 9.3, indicating critical impact with network attack vector, no required privileges or user interaction, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the affected endpoint and monitor for suspicious activity. Avoid exposing the radius.php FreeRADIUS REST endpoint to untrusted networks.
