Description

CVE-2026-108265 is a critical origin validation vulnerability in Privasys enclave-os-mini, a Rust-based runtime for Intel SGX enclaves. Before version 0.40.0, the SGX runtime's RA-TLS challenge certificate path omitted binding a value to the active TLS session, allowing an attacker with the enclave TLS private key to relay a genuine quote onto another connection. This could cause a relying party to accept an attacker-terminated connection as if it were from the attested enclave. The issue is fixed in version 0.40.0.

Technical Analysis

Enclave OS Mini is a Rust runtime for confidential applications inside Intel SGX enclaves. In versions prior to wasm-v0.40.0, the RA-TLS challenge certificate path placed the certificate public-key hash and client nonce in the quote ReportData but did not include a value bound to the active TLS session. This omission allowed an attacker who obtained the enclave TLS private key to relay a genuine quote onto a different connection, causing the relying party to mistakenly accept an attacker-terminated connection as the attested enclave. The vulnerability is identified as CWE-346 (Origin Validation Error) and has a CVSS 4.0 score of 9.1 (critical). The issue is fixed in wasm-v0.40.0.

Potential Impact

An attacker who obtains the enclave TLS private key can relay a genuine SGX quote onto another TLS connection, causing the relying party to accept an attacker-terminated connection as if it originated from the attested enclave. This undermines the trust in the enclave attestation and can lead to unauthorized access or impersonation of the enclave.

Mitigation Recommendations

This vulnerability is fixed in enclave-os-mini version 0.40.0. Users should upgrade to version 0.40.0 or later to remediate this issue. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.
