Technical Analysis

This vulnerability in Casdoor allows an attacker to perform server-side request forgery by manipulating the pgtUrl argument in the CasP3ProxyValidate function of the Proxy Validation component. The flaw affects Casdoor versions up to 3.164.0 and 4.10.0. Exploitation can be performed remotely, potentially enabling the attacker to make unauthorized requests from the server. The issue is fixed in version 4.11.0 with the patch identified by commits 03c6c9aaa2eda5b085ce128ce0d60b34094efbd9 and ada08ecd10cbf158f593dee23a8bab63efecf995.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this SSRF vulnerability could allow an attacker to induce the Casdoor server to make arbitrary HTTP requests, potentially accessing internal resources or services not otherwise accessible. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 5.3 (medium severity), reflecting network attack vector, low complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and low impact on confidentiality.

Mitigation Recommendations

An official fix is available. Users should upgrade Casdoor to version 4.11.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
