CVE-2026-108598: Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') in floci-io floci
Description
Floci versions 1.1.0 up to but not including 2.2.0 contain a critical code injection vulnerability in the VtlTemplateEngine component. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands within the Floci JVM by exploiting unrestricted Velocity mapping templates. Specifically, attackers can create a REST API with a MOCK integration that uses $util reflection to access Runtime or ProcessBuilder classes, enabling command execution.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-108598 is a code injection vulnerability in floci-io's floci product affecting versions >=1.1.0 and <2.2.0. The vulnerability resides in the VtlTemplateEngine, which improperly controls code generation. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this by crafting Velocity mapping templates that leverage $util reflection to access Java Runtime or ProcessBuilder classes, thereby executing arbitrary OS commands within the JVM hosting Floci. This can be triggered by creating a REST API with a MOCK integration using the vulnerable template.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the host running the Floci JVM. This can lead to full system compromise, data theft, or disruption of service. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 9.3 (critical), reflecting the high impact and ease of exploitation without authentication.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, avoid deploying vulnerable versions or restrict access to the affected functionality. Monitor vendor communications for updates on patches or official mitigations.
