Published: 10/11/2026 (10/11/2026, 01:35:44 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: C4illin
Product: ConvertX

Description

ConvertX versions up to 0.19.0 have an arbitrary file read vulnerability due to the invocation of Pandoc without sandboxing. Authenticated users can exploit this by uploading a specially crafted reStructuredText document that includes an absolute file path, allowing them to read arbitrary server files in the conversion output.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-108694 affects ConvertX through version 0.19.0. The vulnerability arises because the src/converters/pandoc.ts component calls Pandoc without the --sandbox flag, enabling authenticated users to upload reStructuredText documents containing include directives with absolute paths. This leads to arbitrary file read on the server, as the output of the conversion includes the contents of the referenced files.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authentication privileges can read arbitrary files on the server hosting ConvertX, potentially exposing sensitive information. The vulnerability does not require user interaction beyond authentication and has a high impact on confidentiality.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated user permissions and monitor for suspicious file uploads related to reStructuredText documents.
