Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-108709 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in Apache Kylin affecting versions from 4.0.4 up to and including 5.0.4. The flaw allows bypassing authentication within in-house networks, but the impact is most significant for Kylin services exposed to public networks. The vendor has addressed this issue in Apache Kylin version 5.0.5.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows an attacker to bypass authentication controls, potentially gaining unauthorized access to Apache Kylin services. However, since most in-house deployments are not impacted and public exposure of Kylin services is uncommon, the overall impact is limited to specific deployment scenarios.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade Apache Kylin to version 5.0.5, which contains the official fix for this authentication bypass vulnerability.
