Description

Frappe HR (hrms) before 16.11.0, including all 14.x and 15.x releases through 15.64.3, contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the whitelisted expire_allocation method that allows authenticated users to expire any leave allocation. Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-108733 is a missing authorization vulnerability in the whitelisted expire_allocation method of Frappe HRMS. Authenticated users lacking HR privileges can exploit this flaw by specifying another employee's Leave Allocation in a POST request, causing the system to expire that allocation and reset the employee's leave balance to zero. This affects all versions prior to 16.11.0, including all 14.x and 15.x releases through 15.64.3.

Potential Impact

An attacker with any authenticated user privileges can manipulate leave allocations of other employees without proper authorization. This can lead to denial of leave benefits for targeted employees by wiping out their remaining leave balances. There is no indication of privilege escalation beyond leave allocation manipulation or other system impacts.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Frappe HRMS version 16.11.0. Users should upgrade to version 16.11.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. Until patched, restrict access to authenticated users and monitor for suspicious leave allocation changes if possible.
