CVE-2026-108856: Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key in UnicomAI Wanwu
Description
UnicomAI Wanwu versions up to 0.6.5 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability. Authenticated users can exploit this flaw by supplying a victim's MCP server UUID to mint AppKeys bound to that victim's MCP server. This allows attackers to open MCP sessions and invoke the victim server's tools using the victim's upstream authentication. The vulnerability has a low CVSS score of 2.3, indicating limited impact and exploitability.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-108856 describes an authorization bypass in UnicomAI Wanwu through version 0.6.5. The vulnerability occurs via the POST /v1/appspace/app/key endpoint, where authenticated users can mint AppKeys associated with other users' MCP servers by providing the victim's MCP server UUID with appType set to mcpserver. This enables attackers to open MCP sessions and invoke server tools under the victim's authentication context.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows authenticated users with limited privileges to bypass authorization controls and perform actions on behalf of other users' MCP servers. This could lead to unauthorized use of server tools and potential misuse of the victim's MCP server capabilities. However, the low CVSS score and requirement for authenticated access limit the overall impact.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the POST /v1/appspace/app/key endpoint to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity involving AppKey minting. Follow vendor advisories for updates on official fixes.
