Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-108951 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in LavaLite CMS through version 10.1.2. Authenticated users with low privileges can exploit a flaw in the AbstractRequest isWorkflow() check to send PATCH requests to the user update endpoint, allowing them to modify other users' account details, including those of administrators. This bypasses intended access controls and enables unauthorized account modifications.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows low-privileged authenticated users to modify critical account information of other users, including administrators. This could lead to unauthorized access escalation, account takeover, or disruption of administrative controls within the CMS environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict user privileges carefully and monitor for suspicious account modification attempts.
