Published: 10/12/2026 (10/12/2026, 18:31:48 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: getgrav
Product: grav-plugin-login

Description

The Grav Login plugin versions from 2.7.0 up to but not including 3.9.9 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers who have a valid password to bypass two-factor authentication by exploiting the remember-me cookie mechanism. Specifically, after passing the password step, an attacker can obtain a persistent remember-me cookie and restore it to gain a fully authorized session without completing the second authentication factor.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-109313 describes an authentication bypass vulnerability in the Grav Login plugin (versions >=2.7.0 <3.9.9). The vulnerability arises because the plugin allows restoration of a remember-me cookie after the password authentication step, enabling attackers with valid passwords to skip the second factor of two-factor authentication. This results in a fully authorized session without completing the intended multi-factor authentication process.

Potential Impact

Attackers who have obtained a valid password can bypass the two-factor authentication mechanism, potentially gaining persistent, unauthorized access to user accounts. This undermines the security benefits of two-factor authentication and increases the risk of account compromise.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Users should monitor the vendor's official channels for updates and apply any released patches or updates that address this vulnerability.
