CVE-2026-109315: Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor in getgrav grav

Published: 10/12/2026 (10/12/2026, 18:31:48 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: getgrav
Product: grav

Description

Grav versions from 2.0.22 up to but not including 2.1.7 have an information disclosure vulnerability. This flaw allows page editors to access the Clockwork debugger token because the sandbox redaction list does not include system.debugger.token. Exploiting this, attackers can use editor-authored Twig templates to retrieve the token and then supply it as X-Clockwork-Auth to access profiler records containing configuration, request metadata, and database queries.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in Grav (>=2.0.22 <2.1.7) arises from an omission in the sandbox redaction list that fails to block access to system.debugger.token. This enables page editors to read the Clockwork debugger token. An attacker with editor privileges can craft Twig templates to render this token and use it as an authentication header (X-Clockwork-Auth) to retrieve sensitive profiler data such as configuration details, request metadata, and database queries. This exposure can lead to unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information within the Grav application environment.

Potential Impact

An attacker with page editor privileges can disclose sensitive internal information including configuration settings, request metadata, and database queries by accessing the Clockwork debugger token. This can aid further attacks or information gathering but requires at least editor-level access to exploit.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Grav version 2.1.7 and later. Users should upgrade to version 2.1.7 or above to remediate this vulnerability. Patch status is confirmed by the affected version range indicating the fix was introduced in 2.1.7.
